Runtime Parameters

The runtime parameter window allows you to link parameters from the game with internal component properties. You can group various continuous runtime parameters and runtime switch parameters into individual parameter files.

Runtime Continuous Parameters

Runtime Continuous Parameters give you access to modulators like volume, pitch, and pan that can be applied to a component and driven in real-time using a game parameter or from the DAW. To create a new parameter, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Runtime Parameters window.
  2. If a parameter file does not exist, create a new one.
  3. Right-click on the parameter file node, and click "New Global Parameter".
  4. Adjust the values for the parameter based on contextual requirements.

For a parameter, you can set a seek value that defines the amount of time it will take to reach the target value. You can also set the default, minimum and maximum values for runtime continuous parameters.

Runtime Switch Parameters

Runtime Switch Parameters allow you to switch between different components. To create a new switch parameters, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click on the parameter-file node and select "New Switch Runtime Parameter".
  2. Under the newly created switch parameter, add switches by clicking the + button and giving the switch a name.

To apply the switch parameter to a switch component, follow these steps:

  1. Select a switch component in the Project Hierarchy .
  2. In the Inspector window, scroll down to the "Switch Component Properties" section.
  3. Select a Runtime Switch Group. For example, "Movement_Type" in the screenshot below.
  4. Now you can assign different child components to different individual switches within the switch group that was selected. You can also select the switch type and the scope.
